The initial construction for the $150 million Trailside Village project, focused on residential development, has been underway since early May and includes homes that are expected to be move-in-ready in 2024.
The first phase of development features
-Trailside Park; an outdoor playground area
-Changes to the Green Township Bike and Walk Trail (2 mi.)
-24 new home sites.
The 124-acre project will be completed over the next four to five years. Once completed, Trailside Village will feature 350 housing units, 35,000 square feet of commercial space, and pedestrian and bicycle-friendly trails – all interconnected with nature and preserved ecosystems.
Developer Clete Benken’s original plan, will see nearly 80% of the homes in the development face or be adjacent to open green space. Dave Wittekind, president of In-Line Development Co., is partnered with Benken and is leading the construction phases of the project.
In addition to the child-friendly parks and play areas, the diversity in home style will allow for a variety of residents when the first homes see move-ins 2024.
Green Township will be an active participant in the upkeep of the development, as the township will own and maintain the conservation land that will occupy the majority of Trailside Village.
