Element Materials Technology picks Cincinnati for North American jobs center

Element Materials Technology will bring 65 new full-time jobs to the Landings II in Blue Ash, where it has signed a 10-year lease with an extension option. It will also retain 130 employees currently working at its state-of-the-art lab in Fairfield.
The company will spend $8 million retrofitting 21,525 square feet of Class A office space on the fourth floor of the building for a new back-end functional support center. The center will house information technology, commercial sales, legal, finance and human resources work to fuel the company’s continued growth throughout North America, where more than 3,600 of the company’s 9,000 global workers are located.
Headquartered in London, England, Element tests, inspects and certifies products for companies in the aerospace, medical and automotive sectors. It tests materials to assess fatigue, makeup, strength and microbiology for jet engines, commercial aircraft, aerospace defense and life sciences, including joint implants.
Element began reviewing possible sites for the support center in 2022. It started with “a blank slate,” Bradbury told the Courier, and progressively narrowed down the potential locations to two: Cincinnati and Chicago. Bradbury explained Cincinnati won because of its affordable cost of living, its commutable metro, the presence of multiple large corporate headquarters, the prevalence of talent and “the great sense of community.”
The London direct flight British Airways added at CVG Airport in early 2023 was also a point in Cincinnati’s favor.
“That was a huge win for us, and we’ve already been taking advantage of it,” Bradbury said, adding Element’s global C-suite team used the flight to travel to Cincinnati for the company’s annual week-long conference in June.
