First Student moves headquarters to GE’s Global Operations Center at the Banks

A transportation company with a robust presence in Cincinnati has relocated its headquarters to the Banks.
First Student moved roughly 300 workers to its new headquarters this summer, with the full office working out of the building by Aug. 15. First Student held a grand opening celebration for its employees on Aug. 29 to commemorate the move.
With huddle rooms, large conference rooms and audio-visual systems, President and CEO John Kenning said the building is perfect for connecting with First Student’s team, which has 500 locations across North America and six local locations.
First Student occupies the eighth floor of the building, which is about 32,000 square feet.
GE holds the master lease on the building through 2031, with five, five-year renewal options.
Feedback on the new headquarters has been great so far, Kenning said. The building includes several amenities that First Student found attractive for its team, including a workout facility, break rooms with great views of Cincinnati and the central Banks location.
It opens the opportunity for First Student to further expand its culture, Kenning said. Aside from downtown Cincinnati views in its break rooms, First Student has a ping pong table and foosball table, along with other activities that allow the transportation company to best utilize the space.
“Having a facility like this will create a culture of accountability,” he said. “It fits into one of our values, which is setting the highest standards for our teams.”
