In The Game arcade, restaurant space coming to Liberty Center

A suburban development that has its eye on growth will add a massive entertainment center to its list of offerings later this summer.

Family Entertainment Group is opening its eighth national location of food and entertainment concept In The Game at Liberty Center this August, according to a news release. The 17,000-square-foot space will include an arcade and full-service restaurant and bar with an aim of having something for guests of all ages.

In The Game’s entertainment space will include virtual reality technology; video, redemption and group challenge games; and a 3D motion ride theater, according to a release. There will also be axe throwing and a Las Vegas-themed escape room.

In The Game Liberty Center will also have a restaurant and bar that can seat up to 150 individuals, including an outdoor patio.

Family Entertainment Group operates In The Game centers across the U.S., including in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts and Texas. The group is always looking for opportunities in new markets, director of marketing Scott Brown said. When the Liberty Center location opens, In The Game will bring up to 80 new full- and part-time jobs to the region.

Liberty Center also announced plans in June to upgrade its green space, the Park. The Park will soon include a larger grand lawn, new play features, seating areas and diagonal paths to enhance the space and the nearby Foundry entrance. Haskell Street will be closed between Bales and Gibson streets once those upgrades are complete, creating a pedestrian-friendly green space.
