‘Like a resort and hotel:’ Skytop Apartments near completion in Anderson Township

Columbus-based Metropolitan Holdings Ltd. is wrapping up work on Skytop Apartments and has held its soft opening for the new Anderson Township community – before its February 2024 construction completion – which includes a look at the resort-style pool, a model unit and the sauna-equipped fitness center.
Skytop, located at the former Skytop Pavilion shopping center along Beechmont Avenue, includes 361 apartments, about 78% of which are one-bedroom units.
Units range from 532-square-foot studios to loft-style townhomes with 20-foot ceilings. Finishes are consistent for all units, including tile kitchen backsplashes, granite countertops and in-unit washer/dryers.
The true core of Skytop is the “front of the house,” Metropolitan Holdings founder and CEO Matt Vekasy, where the building is packed with amenities. The front also includes an airy two-story lobby, with design work by Columbus-based Crimson Design Group emphasizing Cincinnati’s involvement in the art deco movement throughout the entire development.
Amenities at the building’s front include a theater room with access to streaming services, a resident lounge with a pool table and retro arcade games and a business center with a conference room and private computer rooms.
“It really does feel like a resort and hotel,” Vekasy said during the event.
A pet spa and fitness center also can be found on the first floor. The fitness center includes a yoga room with instructors, and the locker rooms include saunas.
Skytop’s apartments frame a resort-style pool at the center. The pool includes shaded pergolas, rentable cabanas with TVs and fridges, and an outdoor kitchen. There’s additional green space to play games including cornhole and giant Jenga.
Still to come is Skytop’s connection to the Little Miami Scenic Trail and the redevelopment of two parcels that surround Big Ash Brewing.
