Lost Hotels plans $7 million, 28-room boutique hotel in OTR’s Germania building

Lost Hospitality,  is making a major pivot to hotels with plans to open its first property inside one of Over-the-Rhine’s most picturesque buildings.

The Germania, located at 1127 Walnut St., will be transformed into a 28-room boutique hotel.

the group, which opened Somerset, event venue Somerhaus, immersive multimedia bar Alice and art-fueled bar Second Story in successive order over a less than two-year span, is looking to fully transition into the hotel business under the moniker Lost Hotels.

The hotel, which is currently unnamed, could open as early as winter 2024.

Lost Hotels – much like the group’s bars – will look to stand out in the market via its design, and the brand will intentionally cater to younger travelers, or those 40 and under.

At the Germania, the bar will act as the hotel lobby and a destination for locals who are on a night out downtown. There will be a lounge for guests and possibly a delicatessen. The rooms will range in size from 170-square feet to 500-square-feet in its two planned suites.

Rates will start around $130.

Once the Over-the-Rhine property is up and running, Lost Hotels will “100% look outside Cincinnati” for its second location. Markets under consideration include Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and Louisville. Each property will be individually named based on the building’s attributes and the neighborhood it’s in.
