Terrace Park, Madeira, Montgomery among ZIP codes that require a minimum income of $100,000
It takes a minimum annual income of more than $100,000 to purchase a home in 14 Greater Cincinnati ZIP codes, according to an analysis of data from Zillow Group Inc. and Bankrate LLC by The Business Journals.
Locally, Terrace Park is the main neighborhood in the ZIP code 45174 with the highest minimum annual income, coming in at just over $170,000. While significantly higher than No. 2, Terrace Park is nowhere near the top of the list nationally. It ranks 2,188th in the nation, just behind Oakland, Calif. At the top in the U.S. is San Francisco enclave Atherton, Calif., with a minimum annual income of more than $1.86 million.
The Cincinnati region has three of five ZIP codes with the highest minimum annual incomes in Ohio.
The increase comes as median home prices continue to climb. Based on current median home values, interest rates and an assumed 10% down payment, it takes household income of at least $100,000 to afford a median priced home in 28% of the more than 23,921 ZIP codes we analyzed. For comparison, the national median income was $74,580 in 2022.
