After a pandemic-induced pause, Rookwood Properties’ yearslong plan to convert a downtown building into apartments has reached completion.
The Rye, is now home to 35 one-bedroom apartments and more than 2,800square feet of first floor commercial space. Findlay Market vendors, a specialty gym and a local clothing designer also have expressed interest in the commercial space.
The 35 apartment units consist of seven different floor plans, with sizes ranging from 574 to 892 square feet. Rent is between $1,305 to $1,995 a month.
All units have stainless steel appliances; in-unit washers and dryers; custom closets; quartz countertops; and ceramic tile showers. Some units have balconies, original radiators and walk-in closets.
The second floor is also the only one to have hardwood, a requirement to meet historic guidelines. The Rye is pet-friendly, aside from the second floor.
Many of the resident amenities are packed in the basement. There’s a gym, dog wash station and storage units. A community lounge is on the first floor.
