–
For almost 40 years now, the Sundance Film festival has famously been hosted in Park City, Utah….by 2027, there may be a shake-up. The director of the festival said the move has been prompted by the contract it holds with Park City, being up for renewal.
The film festival opened a small window of 2 weeks, where other cities interested in hosting the festival were able to submit their proposals. The list has been paired down to 6 cities:
-Cincinnati, OH
-Louisville, KY
-Boulder, CO
-Atlanta, GA
-Santa Fe, NM
-Park City, UT

The Sundance Institute, founded by Robert Redford in 1981, which took over operations of the US Film Festival that had been running since 1978 in Salt Lake City/Park City, Utah. The Festival was officially renamed the Sundance Film Festival in 1991.
