Newport’s World Peace Bell Site Development has been Approved

The 2 acre site across from Carnegie Hall at Newport, will be home to a Dual-Branded hotel (Home2Suites and Tru by Hilton), which will include 207 rooms with a 405-space parking garage. There will also be an office building on the site.

The plans for the Peace Bell Development have been in the works for over 5 years now and have included a slew of changes and variations. The Peace Bell itself, one of the country’s largest free-swinging bell weighing in at 66,000 pounds, will be moved to an undetermined permanent location.

Now the race is on to get the first $20million invested into the site by October 2025 to stay in compliance with the tax-increment financing agreement.
