Developer Onyx + East plans dozens of new single-family homes in Walnut Hills

An Indianapolis developer plans to build 39 single-family, market-rate rowhouses in Walnut Hills near Interstate 71, a change from an earlier site plan that called for apartments.
“We love Walnut Hills – it is such a vibrant neighborhood with many locational advantages,” said Jake Dietrich, vice president of acquisitions and development for the developer. “Onyx + East specializes in building townhome communities, which fits well within the context of this property.”
The planned rowhouses will have two to three bedrooms each on three floors with one- or two-car garages in the rear connected with private driveways. The development also will have new sidewalks.
New Republic is the architect for the project, with Bayer Becker serving as civil engineer and Anderson + Bohlander as landscape architect.
